I’m saving .tif files to DVD or CD rom but the computer hangs before the file is saved. Any ideas? I’ve increased the size of the page files and the computer has 2 GB of memory on an XP Home PC.
Thanks for any ideas you can give me.

What software and version are you using to write to the DVD/CD? Have you successfully written a DVD or CD before? Why are you making the DVD/CD: Are you saving the files for back-up purposes, or are you creating a DVD/CD that will automatically display and sequence through the pictures when loaded?

We are using the Windows XP windows explorer to drag and drop the files on the DVD or CDrom. he has been able to copy JPG files but his photo program prefers TIF files.
the same with copy and paste, he has a Dell computer with MS XP home. and that was recently upgraded to2gig of memory. DVD drive came with the PC. TIF files were hanging just after dropping them to the DVD., After I increased the initial size and maximum size of the Paging file, the file now loads about half way before hanging.
thank’s for any help.

Are you sure XP will create DVDs? It will do CDs but I didn’t know it would do DVDs. XP is old now and DVDs are kinda new. I’m not saying it won’t, just that I didn’t know it would.
